Nerdy notes on the end times.

For all who hate what’s happening in the world but want to read about it anyway.

Q&A:

What genres do you write in?

I love romantic suspense with a hefty dose of mystery and intrigue. There’s nothing like the thrill of a good plot teeming with emotion and passion. My crazy yarns follow people just like us: desperate, passionate people living in uncertain times. I explore the complexity of the human condition while keeping y’all guessing until the very end.

What inspired you to write?

Without writing, I’m as useful as a throw pillow. Perhaps throw pillows are more useful than I am…

Why do you still write, you know, with AI and everything?

Someone needs to tell the tech billionaires to fuck off. What else are we going to do? They already know our darkest secrets and when we pick our noses. Are we really going to let them take our dreams, too? Seriously.

Why chick lit?

First off, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with chick lit. I write about strong women and many of my books have violence and quirkiness. Besides being amazing 😉, I don’t know what makes my books chick lit and a man’s book that features a female character not chick lit. Are Carl Hiaasen’s books chick lit? Skinny Dip’s main character is a woman.

How do you develop your characters and plots?

Sometimes my stories come from one insane question like, “What if I won the lottery and learned I had terminal cancer on the same day?” Mostly, I draw inspiration from my daily life and the real world. Reality is much stranger than fiction. Each of my characters is crafted with depth and humanity, the good, the bad, and the ugly of it. I spend weeks just working on my plot to make sure everything is dialed in before writing.

What themes do you explore in your books?

My books explore themes of love, betrayal, and the complexities and hypocrisy of the human heart. I construct suspenseful plots that challenge my characters and hopefully my readers, making them reflect on their own lives. And sometimes I just try to make people laugh. You know, storytelling stuff. 😊
